Amberley James Bond weekend

- Event Description: Parts of A View to a Kill were filmed at Amberley, in particular the entrance to Main Strike Mine, and some of our engines and rolling stock were featured in the film. These will again be in action to re-enact this scene from the film and there will be James Bond music, films (including A View to a Kill and also period documentaries about the filming at the Museum), new exhibition boards about our James Bond connections near the tunnel entrance, and for our younger visitors there will be a brand new code-breaking trail around the site.

East Anglian Railway Colchester Essex

- Event Description: One of our busiest and much loved events returns for 2025! Our Annual Transport Extravaganza never fails to impress and offers a grand day out for all the family. Get up close and personal to up to 200 classic cars, buses, commercials, agricultural vehicles and rare modern headturners. There will also be a number of friendly car clubs in attendance. Free vintage bus rides will be available where you can relax and enjoy the sights of the local country side. This is a round trip which lasts about 25 minutes. And of course we will also be running steam and diesel trains where you can have unlimited rides all day long! Your admission also includes full access to the museum and it’s exhibits, including access to our restoration shed. The miniature railway will be open with unlimited rides and our friends from the Braintree and Halstead Model Railway Club will have their club rooms open, with a nice range of model railway layouts on display. Hot and cold food and drinks will be available from Platform Two Café (run by Stour Valley Catering) and our very own micro pub will be open selling a nice range of beers, ciders, wines and soft drinks.
