On 3rd September 2016, a dozen cars assembled on the bridge over the River Churnet in Oakamoor to re-enact the 1906 Cotton Race up Star Bank to The Star at Cotton. We then took to Carr Bank which was closed to the public for the afternoon, to offer a seat to anyone interested in a five-mile ride in an open car in the wet! It was deemed a success despite the weather so we decided to take the plunge and organise a bigger, better event this year – please come and join us!
