Duck herding with dog. Helicopter Charter Flights. Those attending travelled not just from local towns and villages but from throughout Kent and from other counties as well. Visitors took their time looking at the exhibits, enjoying refreshments and watching arena events. Even as the event drew to a close on the Sunday, crowds packed round the main arena to watch the final tractor parade.
Popular over the two days were tractors from many decades, rows of classic cars, commercial vehicles and motorcyles; miniature steam engines, stationary engines, horticultural machines, a wide choice of food and drink outlets, and a large number of craft and other stalls.
Tractorfest has grown extremely fast and the 2016 event was only the fourth in the series. The event is organised by the Biddenden Entertainment and Social Team (BEST) volunteers , and proceeds are directed to local charities and other organisations.
Despite gales on its first day, 2016s Biddenden Tractorfest and Country Fair attracted an attendance of over 10,000 people, some 3,000 more than the eventís total in 2015. Donations to good causes have totalled £16,600 this year.
A survey of visitors showed that the main reason for attending was to have ďa good family day outĒ and appreciated were not only the large number of tractors shown and paraded but also the country fair atmosphere which allowed visitors to feel they were stepping into a bygone age.
