The City of Perth Classic Car Parade - 150 of the UK’s best classic cars, dating from 1900 onwards , will leave from Scone Palace for Perth City Centre via the old Perth Bridge The cars will be displayed at Tay street from mid morning for two hours for the public to get a close up view There will be a running commentary from Col Alasdair Hutton (Edinburgh Tattoo) as the cars leave to return to Scone HRH Prince Michael of Kent will view the cars in Tay Street and salute the cars at City Chambers as the cars start their return to Scone Palace On their return the cars will pass over the Old Perth Bridge, preceded by a red flag as was required according to the 1879 sign located on the bridge (the red flag tradition will be celebrated as the cars pass). Scottish car clubs will be displaying 300 classic cars In addition there will be a number of special one off cars including Jaguar XK120 LWK 707 (raced by Stirling Moss’s team in 1952) and Reggie Car displays by Ecurie Ecosse and Knockhill Racing Circuit Vintage buses, brass bands, spitfire air display, and many more displays Entertainment, attractions, trade stands and competitions for all the family, including: stilt walkers, The Big Al Roadshow, Competitions, Games and Craft activities, Trampoline, Climbing wall and Laser Tag.
The Rotary Club of Blairgowrie, working in partnership with Scone Palace and Perth & Kinross Council, is organising what promises to be Scotlands premier classic car weekend in 2018. It will incorporate three spectacular events, spread over two days. We are encouraging all to come and join us for what will be a fantastic series of events over the weekend. All proceeds from the weekend, organised by Blairgowrie Rotary Club in partnership with the City of Perth and Scone Palace, will be donated to Cancer Research UK, Alzheimer Scotland, and the Rotary Foundation.
