Car Information

This year’s London Classic Car Show returns to its roots with an exhibition of celebrated and important vehicles AND plenty of special features, Introducing the first cars of our collection to celebrate 70 years of Corvette:- C1 The C1, designed by Harley Earl, the legendary automotive executive was launched in 1953 and significantly face-lifted in 1956. Launched as a response to the European sports cars GI’s were importing into America in the post war years. The ’53 was the lowest volume produced Corvette ever with only 300 made and, whilst it received mixed reviews upon launch, no one can argue with its jaw dropping looks. Produced until 1962 the C1 was eventually superseded by our next car. C2 Perhaps the most instantly recognisable of the Corvette generations, C2, dubbed the Sting Ray, as it had been developed in part from the Bill Mitchell concept racer The Stingray, and for its innovative rear design, debuted in 1963 and was produced until 1967. Available as either a coupe or convertible it was an instant icon and in 1963 over 20,000 were produced. C3 In 1967 the 3rd Generation Corvette, the C3, debuted. Rather than a completely new vehicle the C3 was based on the C2. From 1969 versions onwards the cars once again held the moniker Stingray but this time as a single word rather than two. The Stingray marque was retired in 1976 until its revival in 2014 for the C7. C4 The last car in our initial release is the C4. Produced from 1983 the C4 brought back the convertible and, following the end of the fuel-crisis, higher performance engines exemplified by the 375hp unit found in the ZR1. The ZR1 for a time held the 24hr-5,000 mile speed record at an average 175mph. The last of the C4’s was produced in June 1996. Tickets are on sale from November 24th with a special limited Early Bird offer! https://www.theclassiccarshowuk.com/
