Open to all classic cars built before 1990 (and later cars of special interest) . Along the way I have arranged a morning coffee stop at an interesting pub where tea and coffee will be available to buy along with soft drinks from the bar.
A lunch stop has also been arranged at a large garden centre where they are looking forward to welcoming us and where you can buy lunch in their extensive restaurant. After lunch you continue to explore more of Hertfordshire's lanes, taking in the last remaining Windmill in Hertfordshire as well as passing through a “Ford” and finishing just outside Hitchin at a lovely countryside hotel where a full Afternoon Tea will be served which is included in the entry fee.
Also this year I am introducing a shorter route for cars that are that bit older and more delicate and less able to cope with a 90 mile tour. The shorter route will be about half that distance but will still take in all of the above stops.
The Tour is a non competitive event for classic cars, however other vehicles may be accepted at the discretion of the organisers. A £46 entry fee per car (crew of two) includes rally plate, detailed easy to follow road book, and a full Afternoon Tea. An additional supplement of £18.00 will be charged for each additional vehicle occupant. Contact details Mike Hayward 01438 359832 (before 9pm) or email@example.com. Regulations and Entry form are available on the Falcon Motor Club web site. http://www.falconmotorclub.com/ where you can also enter online.
This year we are again starting from the Old Watermill near Barton-le-Clay just north of Luton, firstname.lastname@example.org which again is opening especially for us, and can provide a full breakfast at a very reasonable price. The Tour then moves off to explore a small piece of Bedfordshire before heading in to “The County of Opportunity” Hertfordshire, where you will spend the rest or the tour exploring this forgotten piece of England with its amazing countryside and lovely views, and all just 30 odd miles north of the capital.
