You can go for a ride on the steam train if you wish, and the café is excellent for lunch.
In the afternoon we shall ride two miles up the road to the Lakeland Motor Museum near Newby Bridge, Backbarrow LA12 8TA and enjoy its delights. Again the restaurant is superb for afternoon tea and cakes.
On the Sunday we shall visit the home of John Ruskin at Brantwood, east of Lake Coniston (off the B5285), follow signs for Coniston Village. There is a restaurant for lunch. The grounds are beautiful and you can stroll down to the lake if you wish. Prizes for the best Rovers will be awarded in the afternoon, including the Dennis Ambler Award.P4 guild plus members of P6ROC, and their P6s, will be very welcome. Do not send money, but please let Stan Johnstone know of your intention to come by phone, text, letter or email stating your name and Rover model.
