The hotel is set in beautiful parkland originally designed by Capability Brown, which we are sure will be much enjoyed by those who wish to take a picnic. The route this year will be just over seventy miles, taking us in the morning into Wiltshire, travelling along good open roads with pleasant scenery, and then skirting around Frome and on to the Mendips to the lunch stop at Ston Easton. After lunch our route takes us across the Mendips, and with the change of date of the Mendip Tour this year, Cheddar Gorge will be open for us to enjoy. Wells Cathedral will again provide the spectacular backdrop for the cars to park on the Cathedral Green, where the presentation of prizes will take place.

Event Description: NECPWA at Wassand Hall Rally, Hornsea, East Yorkshire Following last year’s successful rally, the park at Wassand will be filled to capacity with a fascinating display of vintage and classic cars from a 1924 Austin 7 to a 1989 Daimler DS420 curtesy of the North East Club for PreWar Austins, the region’s largest vintage car club. Other vehicles include a Jowlett Long Four from the 1930s, 1940s Rover 14 Sport, 1950s Bentley R Type, 1960s Ford Anglia, an MG Midget and MGB from the 1970s, a couple of Jaguars, and of course more Austins from the 1920s – 1960s.
